My BASKETBALL story
As a kid, I loved playing basketball and like many other kids I dreamt about one day playing in the NBA. Needless to say, that didn't happen. In fact, my dream became more of a nightmare… Even though I played for Georgetown, a national powerhouse at that time, and was put on the team by the great Coach John Thompson, I sat where NO kid ever wants to sit and dreads of sitting... I sat on the end of the bench for most/too much of my college career. It's difficult to write those words ‘till this very day and ranks as the lowest time of my basketball life.
But my passion for the game & burning desire to play, fueled a studious behavior to learn the nuances and science of the game. I played with and learned from the greatest - both teammates & coaches.
And then my path to the NBA came… albeit a much different path, but a path nonetheless. Wedding my passion for basketball and my love for physics (I was a Physics major), I invented a shooting device to help basketball players of all ages and levels improve their shot and improve their game. I signed with Spalding who partnered with the NBA… and there is “my path.”
It was the dream that later led me to the idea that took me on this journey... and now the Smart Shot is here!
